An academic career in Germany poses challenges for international researchers. The German system is unique and complex, as is the German academic culture. Both offer possibilities and opportunities for a successful career, but getting started is easier for those who understand both the system and the working culture.
In this workshop we will get to know the German academic system: We will explore how the system works and develop an understanding of possible career paths in science: from universities to project sponsors to research institutions, ministries or even foundations. We will look at the organizational and working culture in the German academic system and find out what steps you can take and what you need to be aware of to stay on track.
