Motivation and objectives
The end of a PhD or a PostDoc comes along with some essential questions:
- What comes after my PhD or my current PostDoc?
- Which options do I have?
- Which options do I have outside of academia?
- Which competencies do I have? How do I put myself into a good light without being too modest?
- What do I envision for my future?
- What is my “business model” as a researcher?
- Depending on my own “business model”: Which funding opportunity will support which career stage for an academic career?
Therefore, in this workshop you will
• explore your individual answers to these questions while obtaining feedback to your thoughts, worries and hopes and to your “business model” by the group and the trainer
• develop a good grasp of your skills and competencies
• uncover your personal preferences
• develop your own personal business model
• and understand how to use funding opportunities as a strategic career instrument.
To achieve this, this workshop provides targeted information and plenty of time to try out methods which are used by the trainer in individual career coaching.
Employs theoretical input, plenary discussions, individual and small group work, experience sharing and expert advice.
